Ookay, then. Nice to know someone has finally been appointed Queen (or King--whatevs)of the Quality Control Committee for fandom.

AO3 has tons of stuff I don't like too, including poorly-written, OoC fic (see 95% of all Alpha/Beta/Omega type fic, and that's all over my fandoms right now.), but that's what the scroll button is for. Unless someone is actively begging you to read their godawful fic, they're hardly shoving it in your face now, are they?

Alpha/beta/omega... Christ, I hadn't even heard of that until it began showing up for XMFC, now it keeps popping up in Avengers. Now, YKINMK and all that, but that's one that just... puzzles me.

Replace XMFC with Supernatural, and grab me a PokeBall because that's a ditto.

Not that I'm trying to single out Alpha/beta/omega specifically, but the very premise does lend itself to OoC more than many other popular fandom trends.

Yeah. I'd heard that. I don't think I saw any of the earliest fics though--I've never been that dedicated to the fandom. I just remember seeing it pop up on AO3 searches for Supernatural fic before anywhere else.
