Are those actually rumors though? I was under the impression it was just a fan theory that spiraled out of control?

But, yeah. I WANT THEM BOTH. See, not petty just wanting the full meal deal. ;)

I'm not all that wistful about Wanda not being in the MCU (although I really wish fandom would play with her more) because if you have Wanda, you need Pietro, and if you have Wanda and Pietro, you need Magneto, and if you have Magneto, you need the X-Men and...yeah it's just too much. So much possibility for crossovers though.

The Avengers character I REALLY am desperate to see is Carol Danvers. I see not a single difficulty or impediment to her presence in the MCU. Also Hank and Jan, but that's seeming more and more like a pipe dream.

Oh I know. And I'd love to see Pietro in there too. Mags... hmm. There are ways around it (random terrorist father, barely mentioned?) but yeah. The crossover possibilities are endless. Hopefully they can work something out but I'm not holding my breath. Vizh would be awesome, Coulson-related or not. LOL

I would love love love to see Carol in action. And she would be such an easy fit. Even pulling from the Ultimates stuff (which... at least the character designs seem to pull from more than anything) she was director of SHIELD there for God's sake! She's perfect. But I'm not holding my breath. We'll see what they do with Ant Man movie. I've not lost hope on Hank and Jan just yet.

I want Jessica Drew so bad it hurts. Primarily because, while the cool and scary competence of Black Widow and Maria Hill is nifty, I want a lady who can be as wacky as the guys are.

Carol would be super cool too, though. Seems more likely, what with her new series and all.

You could probably, technically, do Wanda and Pietro without really going into Magneto, just sort of glossing over it. The real problem would be explaining mutants. Thus far, only Cap and Bruce have any real superpowers, and they're both a result of the same science. (Well, and Thor, but he's an alien, and a lot of his powers, like Tony's, come down to his weapon.)

Actually working in Jess wouldn't be too terribly hard either. She was a SHIELD agent after all. That being said, they might avoid the whole Spider Woman thing to avoid confusing the non-initiated. But for female agents that can do wacky and fun... there's always Mockingbird. Another easy fit thanks to SHIELD.

The whacky factor is also why I wish Jan would show up. Everyone else is all "I must be a hero to make up for my past crimes/do my duty to the people of the world/fight my inner demons/find my place in a world where I don't belong." And Jan'd probably be like "OMG OMG YOU GUISE THIS IS SO COOL I LOVE BEING A SHRINKING FLYING ZAPPING BUG-WOMAN-THING MY BOYFRIEND IS A GENIUS AND MY LIFE ROCKS!"

As much as I love Jan, I'm not sure if I want her in the movieverse. I have a horrible feeling that any attempt to include her would somehow get messed up by this:

*facepalm* Dude, now I have a sinking feeling too. Urgh, can't we just have our nice little whacky superhero couple and let them be? Certain storylines just don't work in movies the way they do in long-term serial works. Maybe Hank could have a more benign meltdown that's directly as a result of ULTRON or something.

Fuck, I really want ULTRON to appear in the MCU. It would be so epic.

THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

I KNOW RIGHT??? That was exactly what made me need ULTRON so badly in the first place. Also he's an awesome villain and yak yak yak, but mostly that Thor line. :D

Also ngl: I was really crossing my fingers hoping that Hank and Jan would crop up in, like, Iron Man 3 as minor supporting characters like Hawkeye in Thor, and drop a nice fat hint about the fact that Ultron is going to happen.

I hate that panel with all my heart. The artist has long ago said that he misunderstood the script, there was a long, beautiful story where he redeemed from that one hit and everything that happened during his nervous breakdown, and he and Jan ended up together and happy...

But despite that, it's still brought up as if it was the all-end of HAnk's character.

Ahhh, but you forgot, every event in a character's continuity only exists so that future writers can exploit them to cause as much wank and drama as possible and give excuses to tell hackneyed stupid stories. It wouldn't ever be to give characters an interesting arc and develop them and give them an incident in their histories that they'd learn from oh no....
