Sorry to dredge up the unpleasantness. :(

I'm glad you had a teacher that put a stop to it, even if just the once is enough to leave a lasting impression. My teachers weren't that attentive, I'm afraid. For me it just went on until the girls decided it wasn't fun anymore (because I graduated from crying to screaming swear-words at them) and they moved on to other things.

Yeeeeep. :( That sucks. I always hesitate to tell that story because it sounds so "10 Things I Hate About You" but it really did happen. XD; But yeah, "Let's talk to/laugh at the attention-starved loner-girl!" was several people's favorite pastime. @__@;

I think in my case the girls honestly didn't realise they were upsetting me. I told my mum, she told a teacher, he spoke to the class, and then they must have twigged that I didn't find it funny. That's often the way with bullying. ETA: This came to mind when I was first typing up the comment and I think perhaps I should get it off my chest: one of the popular girls once accused me and my friends of bullying her. At the time I thought she was full of shit since we were just joking around, and she was one of the popular girls so we couldn't possibly be actually hurting her, but now... I feel really bad. D:

People sometimes don't believe me either - if they've not had the 'let's talk to the loner-girl' thing happen to them personally they often thing you're just being paranoid, but it happened to me alll the time for the best part of a decade. :/
