Huh, I didn't think of that. I just thought fans were holding onto a theory to make themselves feel better but don't want to build up too much hope for the future. So, you know, if he's not dead: Yay! If he is dead: Well, yeah, you said that in the last movie. I'm just gonna stick with the same theory from before to make myself feel better.

But apparently people are really invested in Coulson coming back? Huh. I mean, I want it to happen. I just don't want to feel disappointed if it doesn't. What I see is a movie making something open ended so that the next movie can do whatever it wants. Open ended doesn't guarantee a living Coulson. It's just leaving the option available for the future.

I think it's kinda weird to be hopeful about this either way honestly, no matter what camp you're in.
