So for some reason that I do not understand, casual racism against east Asian people was really common at my school. I have no clue why, since at this stage I don't remember there being any Asian students at my school (I grew up in a really goddamn white town) so it wasn't directed at anyone in particular but, like, for a while pulling your eyes up to 'look Chinese' was the height of comedy. I was thinking about this lately and I feel bad for joining in with it from time to time.
I guess what I am trying to say is: I'm sorry, we honestly didn't know what we were saying. D:
