I remember being told by an older Mormon that they were taught that if a POC repented of their sins God would take away their burden and they would be white in heaven. This was just one guy but when I checked it out online I found quite a few things like this

I'm willing to accept that Mormonism has radically altered their stance recently but there seems to have been at least a history of racism in Mormonism.

There is a *huge* history of issues with PoC in the Mormon church, starting with their beliefs wrt Native Americans. It's generally been sanitized for modern converts, but it's definitely there, as a lot of ex-Utah Mormons will tell you.
