When I was in middle school, the parlance was that "going together" for "girlfriends and boyfriends"--granted, at this age, it's not like anyone was really *going* anywhere, but anyway, that's what we called it. One of the popular jock guys asked me to go with him in the library. When I said yes, he said (and I can still hear it word for word and see his little face as he said it) as he laughed, "I would never go with a girl like you."
Now, I'm a college professor in a good marriage with the smartest nine year old ever born and I'm financially stable and happy, and I'm pretty sure his life maxed out on the fifty yard line senior year. So *sticks out tongue at assholes*

I'm sorry you went through that. Kids are so mean. Not that adults aren't, but...
Rock on with your bad self! I'm glad everything worked out for you. :) I'm still trying to figure out where my life's headed. I'm 25 with a BA in a subject I have no interest, after all, in getting a job with, and have been doing clerical/admin assistant temp work for three years, so I don't know if I'm better off than my tormenters yet or not. XD;

I also don't think you're in a bad position for 25. I think more and more people at 25 still aren't sure where exactly they're going and what they're gonna end up doing. Neither me nor my husband were. I was 28, and he was 29 before we began our careers (with some several detours along the way, some fun, some not so fun). The economy is not helping with any of this. Hang in there.

Yeah, it seems to be more the norm now than the exception, which while somewhat comforting, it sucks that things have gotten so bad for EVERYONE... I hope I stumble upon something eventually. Thanks for the support~♥
