People tumblr savvy:

how do I make urls like this one:

I clicked on an image to see the larger version, and instead of the typical "bunch of numbers media tumblr more numbers" that never tells you who uploaded what and makes it a pain in the ass to credit stuff when you save it because you have to type the name of the artist into the file name yourself or wherever so brrr, I got this page, which not only has the name of the tumblr user, but also a link to the post where they uploaded it (the file name/direct file url is still the same junk that doesn't tell you much, but still!)!

WHAT IS THIS SORCERY AND HOW CAN I DUPLICATE IT

Make sure you're uploading the image to a photo post. Anything greater than 500 pixels in width is clickable to view in it's full-size. Images you upload within a text post (through "+upload pic") are always going to give you the tumblr_123412342q54garbage though.

a note though: if you reblog someone's post with a larger image, it gives you a similar url, but with your name instead.
