The next time I come home after clearing all that shit out, there's MeeMaw at the dining room table wearing the ratty old sweater I'd tossed and the scuffed up shoes with the nearly broken buckles, saying, "I can't believe you just threw away all these nice things, Lorraine," and then I felt this ice water clench deep in my bowels, and I just knew they'd sat around and painstakingly sifted through my trash. It really hurt me a lot.
