Re: ...And I just ate an entire jar of Nutella. I'll take "Signs I've Started My Period" for 200 Ale

Oh I know. Living in Texas and while I can understand the side-eyeing when a 21 year old wants it I still know I absolutely don't want to have kids the biological route and probably won't want them within my "fertile" years.

I don't see the point as there are so many children without homes. Try telling that to my mother though. Which is infuriating as she herself was adopted. And the fact that I apprenticed with a midwife when I was eleven and that kind of thing sticks with you may have a little to do with it as well. :D

I suppose, though really - if someone says 'i don't want kids, take this out', then freaking do it. If they change their minds ten years later, well...bummer for them but that's the chance they took. I just can't stand the 'no no, you silly thing, you will want babbies!!' attitude, it makes me rage. Adoption would have been fine by me if i hadn't been able to get pregnant.

I had my daughter at home with a midwife. It wasn't bad, really - trying to pass a kidney stone hurt a lot fucking worse. *That* made me cry - having my daughter didn't. *Not that i wanted to do it more than once, though, heh.*

I agree the attitude is infuriating but I kinda think most twenty year olds shouldn't be allowed to do pretty much anything. And while inconvienent I guess I can wait as this is something I'm sure I want.

I assisted in over fifty births and after awhile I saw pretty much the worst of the worst including my little sister's birth which almost resulted in the death of my mother so "None for me thanks!" seems like the only possible response I could have. Combine that with the fact I feel like I've already raised my kids.

I got very, very lucky - no morning sickness, no issues of any kind, gained almost no weight, was only in 'hard' labor for about three hours. It just was not, physically, a big deal.

I was more twitchy about my water breaking on the couch and ruining it because i wouldn't be able to clean it up properly.

One, though, was/is plenty. Been there, done that, don't need to breastfeed ever again. My sis in law told me that having only one was 'mean' and no kid should grow up 'alone'. HA.
