I maaaaay be doing this right now with pitching in with the 'no, I don't believe Coulson is dead' camp in Avengers fandom.

I was also in the 'Sirius isn't really dead' camp, too. In general if there's an uncertain death, I tend to go NOPE THEY'RE ALIVE especially if I liked the character. 'Never found the body' tends to equal 'is still alive' to me.

Jup have to agree with that. I'm still clinging to the hope that Gabriel in Supernatural will come back, which is completely unlikely xD

Oh man, I'm with you with the "Coulson Lives!" thing, and I really cannot tell if I'm being a batshit theorist or I have a legitimate reason to believe he's alive. I mean, pretty much every fic I've ever read has Coulson handwaved back to life, so I know I'm not alone, but I'm weirded out because I just can't figure out if the actual canon hints are bullshit fanwank or not — my perception is all screwed up.

I can't either! I go 'but why would he need the cards if Coulson was dead...why weren't Natasha and Clint there...' etc etc. Damn you, Joss Whedon.

And then I go to the fics and he's alive in pretty much all of them and go 'welp even if he is dead I'm fine living in denial.'

I'm the same way. Oh, and +1 for Sirius.

I'm the same way. If there's no body (especially with anything comics related), there's a possibility the character could still be alive! And sometimes even when there IS a body. And it doesn't even have to be comics - look at Supernatural.

So I'm gonna believe Coulson is alive too, until we're told otherwise.

I do this with characters I love all the time. I don't think it's something I'll ever grow out of, tbh.

LOL, my best friend and I wrote "PADFOOT LIVES" in huge letters on the beach at sunset and excitedly whispered the phrase to any dog that came ambling over to see what we were doing before the last book came out. Good times. :D
