I've discussed this before, but I was really butthurt that the monster in Harry's chest was hungry for Ginny. I wanted Harry/Luna to be endgame. My ire has faded over time, but not completely.

I used character bash Taichi from Digimon 01 pretty hardcore. I had a real hate-on for him when I was a kid. I got over it and he became a character I really liked, but, for some reason, I really hated him early on.

If I had been in the DBZ fandom I would have woobiefied Vegeta.

Ahahahaha. I wasn't butthurt over it, but I share/d your preferences for Harry and Luna together.

I never thought of Harry and Luna before, but now I'm sad it didn't happen. (I was waiting for Luna and Neville to happen.)

Luna/anyone besides the person she actually got together with should have happened.

Can I ask why? The person Luna married wasn't even a real character, so I'm wondering what there is to have against that pairing

I'm the opposite, I get really pissed off when characters are only ever paired up with other characters. ESPECIALLY with highschool type stories. The world is not that small and it irks me with the implication of you can only love your classmates.

Actually, the British wizarding world IS that small. Just saying. Harry Potter =/= high school-type setting. Not even remotely.

Even just within their age group of magical peers there was canon interaction with students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang? And IIRC America, Japan, and Brazil had their own schools?

Yeah, but I suppose marrying between entirely different countries isn't all that common. In the wizarding world, it seems that about half the people within seven years of your age who live in your area are classmates.

I doubt distance would be the same kind of obstacle it is in the Muggle world?

I suppose not, but culture would be. The wizarding world hasn't given any indications that they're more cosmopolitan than regular people, if GoF is anything to go by.

I've only seen the movies, but I will never understand why Harry/Luna wasn't endgame.

And yeah, I definitely would have woobified Vegeta. I totally forgave that whole mass-murdering thing he kept doing.

*g* Not butthurt, but Harry/Ginny never made sense to me, while Harry/Luna seemed pretty much obvious in my eyes.
