(Anonymous) 2012-08-08 01:10 am (UTC)(link)But I lost a lot of respect for the show when they went from presenting Barney as a horrible empty person and presenting his womanizing as hilariously ridiculous and pathetic, to portraying him as awesome and cool and having the other four rave over how awesome and cool he is, in a blatant attempt to pander to fans. Contrast Ted and Marshall being revolted by Barney's womanizing in seasons 1-3, to being jealous and impressed with it in seasons 5-6. I thought they were giving him some amazing character development in season 4, having him try to change himself from a giant douchebag to an okay guy, but noooooo...stupid fucking season 5.
