Harry Potter up until my last year of high school.

I was an Animorphs fan when Harry Potter came out. I was jealous and bitter that it was taking the spotlight away from my favorite book series. That and I HATED the way JKR wrote. I read part of the first chapter of book one, cause my crush at the time (i was 12) tried to get me into it. But I couldn't stand it.

So, here comes the year book six came out and I finally gave up. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF MY. FRIENDS was talking AAAAAALLLLLLL about book six. And I felt left out. So I borrowed the first book from a friend and then, for the next week, I devoured the entirety of the series up to that point. I was glued to my bed for the entire weekend or I had my book out in class when I was done with classwork.

Needless to say, I was baffled by my younger!self as to why I gave up on it so fast back then, but, we're not all rational at 12. :P

To be fair to your younger self? The first chapter is a bit different from the rest of the book.

Yeah, I did notice that after I finally read the series. But my younger!self just would not get past it. At all. ^^;; I was such a stubborn kid.

Oh what am I saying, I'm still so now. XD
