I felt the same way, anon. First Class is probably not my favorite X-Men incarnation, but damn, it was fun. I liked the idea that the authors/artists had the desire to let these teens be teens--albeit super-powered teens, but hilariously awkward teens nonetheless. I think it worked so well when you know the original storylines and how serious and dire everything was.

And when I first heard they were making X-Men: First Class I thought it would be this, too. I was sorely disappointed.
