Don't wash your hair more than a few times a week (really, this is what all of my hairdressers say and I have the same hair pretty much, maybe a bit more on the curly side than yours but still)

FIND A HAIRDRESSER THAT KNOWS HOW TO CUT CURLY HAIR. Check Yelp. This is important.

Don't use anything on your hair with sulfates in it. Use sulfate-free shampoos. Burt's Bees is good and pretty widely available

Oh yeah and CONDITION THE SHIT OUT OF THAT HAIR. Like, use a leave-in conditioner after you're done showering (on towel-dried hair). But again, avoid sulfates, that's the stuff that usually makes shampoo lather up real sudsy and that is apparently what you don't want if your hair is on the wavy/curly side

Also, a question for anyone in this thread -- how many of you have tried any Kinky-Curly products? I keep hearing good things about this brand but it's a bit expensive so I haven't tried it yet
