I don't have a problem with OC's having a romantic relationship with canon characters. I have not even the slightest urge to figure out if the author is self-inserting or not. What I do demand is that the OC's be useful and important to the story and not act like they are entitled to my attention simply because they exist. I will decide if the romantic dynamic is interesting or not. The important thing to me is the plot -- are they helping to unravel an interesting plot.

I didn't fall in love with the canon characters for sitting on their asses and being cute, I'm not going to fall in love with an OC for doing that either.

This is the weirdest thing, but I'm liking your comments a lot less now that you don't have the Sherlock icon. I don't even get it. :/

Oh but this icon is waaaaaay cool. It's not a rainbow, even though it looks like it. It's a circumhorizontal arc caused by sun going through a high layer of ice crystals that are certain shape and aligned a certain way.

Much as I love BBC Sherlock -- crazy weather is where my true nerdy heart lies.
