I heard that it was because of casting, funding and script issues (they can't get it below $90 million for example) I didn't hear anything about it not being wanted. Where'd you hear that?

Every couple of days. During particularly gross weeks of summer, or after super sweaty exercise, every day. I rarely use hair product or conditioner though, because it's thin and already falls flat on my head. It gunks up easily otherwise.

Me too, anon. I love the movies so much and still watch them (I got all the 4-disc boxsets as a gift, haaa). I've tried on multiple occasions to get through the books and I can't make it. I'll put it aside for awhile and not get back into it, then say "life's too short to spend reading a dry book." I'd love to be in fandom but....

I did read The Hobbit in high school. I must reread it before the movie comes out. Maybe you and I will both join fandom by then.

It isn't anywhere near too late to join the discussion. If anything nows a great time because everyone is gearing up for the Hobbit movies coming up. If you had trouble reading the lord of the rings, you might have an easier time with the Hobbit. It's really a kids book, it has a lot less politics and a lot more episodic adventures. The elves are more flawed and down to earth, which as far as I'm concerned is a selling point. Though I imagine the movies will put them back on their pedestal, just for consistency's sake.

I just checked this and I should have specified, but it's not *painful* really, it's just sort of uncomfortable and annoying, because my lips jiggle around and such. It's sort of like that feeling when you're running without a sports bra on? You know what I mean, right?
