maybe you should have done it anyway? perhaps you could have convinced her that there was more to the fantasy genre than just lord of the rings. It seems a bit close minded of her to shoot you down like that.

We had to have our books approved by her before we could even start writing the essay. I couldn't go behind her back and change it. :(

If I had a strong argument about a topic for my essay when I saw her I might have managed it, or I might have still been shot down. idk, it was five years ago.

oh, right. Well that sucks. You should be allowed to do any book! Within reason. I guess. Or at the very least she should have had a different reason for you to not do it other than it being a fantasy book. I'm truly sorry for your lots
