What are you doing on this lovely Monday? Something (or someone) set off the fire alarm at work today so we all had to go outside and wait for the fire trucks to come (and they came fast!) Seems to have been a false alarm but hey we got to stand outside in the sun for a few minutes!

I am so with you, OP. I especially love how Simon Pegg's character was handled: you expect him to be purely the comic relief character, but in the end he gets his moments of badass competence just like the rest of them, and no one seems surprised by it, because after all, he is an active field agent. It just makes me all warm and fuzzy, the fact that they all work together so well. And hey, you never know, the next movie could be just as solid!

Personally, I agree that Tobey was better, but wow, you really didn't have to say it in such a douchey way. Some people haven't watched the older films or read the comics, and they might've enjoyed Garfield!Peter (or they might've enjoyed him anyway, even though he was different).

Edit: and really, even though Tobey was a much better Peter, he wasn't that close to comics!Peter and no closer to comics!Spider-Man than Andrew.

but surely what you are doing is in itself a form of fandom, right? engaging in lengthy discussions and whatnot about characters. You're just doing it without the internet aspect. Maybe you could suggest something like "you know, I bet people have written about this- we should go find some!" or... something along those lines. Ok this isn't very helpful. But surely it would be an improvement if you could share fandom stuff? (unless she, idk, turned in to a crazy BNF or something, but yeah.)

I like how they didn't put him in the first trailer, so I had totally forgotten about his character - but yeah, I'll bet an apple to an acorn he's going to be the Fandom Darling.
