Ok, I know I'm a year or two behind the times with this but I just watched the third Transformers film tonight and. Wow. What shitty writing! I watched the first two earlier in the week and I still managed to not give a damn about a single thing that happened in that movie. I don't have much else to say about it, really, I just can't get over how badly written it was. ugh.

LOL. I know the feeling. I watched the Green Lantern movie for the first time a month ago and I just wanted to find some forum and complain and complain about the shitty writing, plot, directing, etc. Not about about the Green Lantern character or the relation to the comic book because I know nothing about that, but just the technical/creative aspects (or, lack thereof) of the film.

Why the hell was Peter Skarsgaard's character in the film? He added nothing and his any time spent on him was actually detrimental to the telling of the story. Why did they waste so much time with that whole stupid "Oh god, my dad got blowed up," opening if they were just going flashback to it ten minutes later? JFC, you don't need to spoon feed us Hal's daddy issues, we can pick up the gist just fine with just a quick flashback and the actor's ability to emote. OH WAIT. Ryan Reynolds is a fucking million dollar plank of wood.

All three films make me rage so much cause when I look back on them, I can't remember a single good bit, or any of the storylines. It's just Shia and girl being boring for half the film, then them running with explosions happening.

Sometimes I even forget there are robots in those films.

All three of them have their problems, but the third one is just coasting on the back of what little character development they managed in the first two. We're supposed to care about Optimus because... he helps us blow people up? Why, by the way, did he do that? I wasn't comfortable watching giant transforming alien robots with massive weapons being used in America's military campaign. I don't know, I didn't see much to like about any of the Autobots this time around. They just happen to not be Decepticons, whoo. I liked the Decepticons more! Was Ratchet even in this one? And the one that died - I did not give a toss. I wasn't given any reason to! If we were told his name I'd already forgotten it by then. Ditto every single new robot except Shockwave, and even that one I'm not sure I got right. Far too much of Shia being a little brat - and the S7 guy being smarmy - and not enough character development.

I sat through the whole film with this scrunched up sneer on my face that I couldn't seem to shift because I couldn't believe how bad it was and how much worse it kept getting. My mum was watching me more than the film! And laughing more than I was! Don't even get me started on that pair of Mary Sues. It also seemed really racist. *sigh* I just really disliked this film! Sorry I've ended up ranting to you about a film you don't even remember - I guess I had more to say about it after all.

Oh my God there's going to be another sequel. I wish I didn't know that.

My rage at that movie could power the sun. I remember when it first came out and a lot of my friends were like, "Oh, it's great! And remember, we can always fix everything with fic!" Y'know, if the thing was any good, you probably wouldn't need to consider fix-it fic RIGHT AFTER VIEWING.

LOL. I started trying to rewrite it in my head about halfway through the film.
