What I did was suggest cup use as an alternative explanation for no stains to ~laser precision tampon or pad use. In response to someone whose comment was clearly intended to scoff at the idea that a woman -- any woman -- might menstruate without leaking on her clothes. And I said that SOME women don't stain their shit. Not all, but SOME. Which is true.

I'm more weirded out that the OP takes it as a given that everyone consistently bleeds all over their clothing enough to make bloodstains clearly visible in the back and front in white underwear.

You do if you sleep and have heavy ass periods like me. :/ I've bled so much that my poor pad, whether it be an over night or not, can't hold it all and it seeps out over it, both front and back.

So, all my panties, white and color alike, are period panties.

Not that I'm ashamed of that or anything. It's a stain from a natural bodily function. I don't know why I keep getting this "shame" feeling from all up in this thread. :/ If anyone who sees your underwear and sees those stains and has a fucking issue with them, well, they can go fuck themselves imo.

This reminds me of a story I heard from someone taking a capoeira class (for those who don't know, a martial art where the uniform pants are white, and there's a lot of legwork and kicking). Two classmates were chosen to practice sparring in front of the class, but as they sparred, it suddenly became obvious that one of the sparrer's period had started right there in the middle of it or there was pad shifting or something, and no one was really sure what to do. But then she noticed as well, and without a second thought, took off her shirt (sports bra underneath), tied it like a loincloth, and continued the match. Because, yeah, whatcha gonna do?

The secret, though, is about other people seeing those stains (which the secret maker assumed every single woman has all the time, I guess? 24/7/365 out-of-control periods?). Lying down for eight hours can cause stains in weird places, sure, but one hopes people who then get up to start their day will change their underwear.

Well, yes, that I understand. But these other comments come off as "Stains? EWWWWWWWW!!! How dare we have them!!! Especially for those who wear WHITE undies!!"

Like myself. I have plenty of underwear to wear during the whole week. But, unfortunately, they all have stains. Either because whatever methods I used didn't get all the blood out or I didn't get to them fast enough and they set. Or vaginal discharge has slowly sapped the color from them. So they have stains on them. These comments, especially in this thread, seem to convey an "ewwwww" kind of shame going on and all I can think is "Really? No one ELSE has underwear who has stains on them? Due to periods, vaginal discharge has discolored colored panties or left a stain on white ones? Really? I call bull."

And if they do, why is there such a D8 about them? It's gonna happen either way unless you wear panty liners. It's natural. And unless you have money to spare every time a pack becomes "period panties" or have the room to store so many pairs of undies, most people are gonna have stained underwear and they WILL wear them, regardless of situation (date, school, work, workout, what have you).

I'm the same! Sometimes, even if I wash the panties right away, some discoloration/coloration happens.

Many of my panties end up stained one way or another. + Heavy flow on periods too; I've taken to put "pantyliners" at the back to catch some of the extra flow, or sometimes even toiler paper to catch that area near the buttocks where the pad doesn't quite cover. And still accidents happen.

And like you said, who cares? Nobody is seeing my panties. vov

I prefer all cotton white panties because it's comfortable and I've had weird times when my skin is super sensitive and it's hard to predict, and I also feel weird about staining colored panties (even if the bridge on the inside is white).

Yeah I have some permanently stained underwear. If I start my period during the night or move into a stupid position while I'm asleep and miss my pad it'll be at least a couple of hours before I notice and whoops dried-in blood stains. \o/ Haven't had heavy discharge since I was a teenager, though.

sometimes blood stains don't come all the way out, especially if they have a chance to set in while you're sleeping

some people have irregular periods and aren't always wearing period panties when it starts

also, on top of being irregular, my periods sometimes are: 3-5 days of heavy flow, one week of this weird "old blood" looking discharge.

It's actually gotten better this year, in that I don't bleed so much that my pads get overflowed during night so often like it used to be.

plus I wear my panties until they start getting holes near the elastic band or the edges, because, money, so over all those years regular vaginal discharge starts to leave its mark
