Comics lover of twenty years here and Maguire ruined the Spider-Man films for me. Zero chemistry with Mary Jane, too much emo sad sack faces, not a funny quip in sight.

Also Spider-Man 3.

This, I read a lot of Spidey growing up (and kinda stopped after high school to be honest, and considering what happened with One More Day, staying away from it until that trainwreck is over), I never get why people think Maguire was a good Spidey? I'm not going to deny that the Spidey Trilogy movies were well written, but it was so horribly miscast on the gotdamn main character.

Maguire was Peter on downers, my god.
