There is literally only one path I can take when I am coming to my apartment from anywhere and it involves circling past my apartment complex halfway across town and then back over to the complex on a different road! Also, there's tons of other construction going on in my town, and I got lost last night for an hour because I'm unfamiliar with the town and my GPS didn't account for the construction!

I know what you mean! They had this one street that was normally very convenient under construction for soooo long and the detour took you around in circles. I remember thinking I was in the fucking Twilight Zone one night because I couldn't find my way out or the detour maze and I kept coming back to the same place.

Well, at least you'll get familiar with the town!

I have it constantly going on right outside my window at five in the morning every day. :< Thank goodness I'm moving soon.

I know the feeling! There's a ton of construction going on near my university and it's so annoying.

You'd hate unmaintained roads more, I'll bet. Small inconvenience versus completely untraversable? Please.

It's not maintenance. They didn't build the roads right in the first place and there are so many one ways that people kept getting hurt (or almost) so now they have to make two way roads like they should have done in the first place which is frustrating.

I hear you. There is a street near I live that had a lot of traffic and worked just fine, but we couldn't have that, could we? So they added some lanes and changed circulation in near streets (and added bizarre detours and added a suspended bridge and a few potted plants and etc.) to "improve circulation", but it had the exact opposite effect.

So not only was it inconvenient during construction, they also ruined local businesses and the traffic is messed up now.
