Procrastination is a big one of mine. "I'll do it after I watch this one video/cook dinner/check this website"

Definitely, definitely procrastination. So much so, it needed two definitely's, lol.

Also, general anxiety about whether what I'm writing will incur a lot of dislike. I've been experiencing writer's block for a while, so that makes it worse.

And needing to do research. I noticed I procrastinate less if I write out my stories in a notebook, but without the internet on hand, I don't have specifics, and with it, BAM, procrastination. XD

Procrastination is my big one, too. And, as I've mentioned elsewhere, sometimes I have a bunch of ideas that are bouncing around in my head and making it hard me to focus on the one story I'm trying to write right at that moment.

Having deadlines is actually MASSIVELY helpful for me. They need to be reasonable, but they really do help. Right now, I'm on two bingo comms with two different due dates, and because I feel like those deadlines are "looming" (even though they're really not), I'm making good progress.

(Is that the "Sherlock 100"? I was thinking about doing that later this year)

Ugh, deadlines. They are good for me, but they make me nervous. I have one right now and it's making me freak out a bit!

Yeah, I can see how deadlines can make you nervous. But sometimes I feel like I need one to get me going.

+1 to deadlines! Like you said, need to be reasonable but without a solid deadline I will linger on forever. And self appointed deadlines never seem to work.

Yeah. And for some things that fine. The sherlock100 thing is nice because I often will start writing a story then finds it fits one of the prompts I've not done yet, and I just write for it, like, whenever. But deadlines and prompts get me going.

PERFECTIONISM.

Holeee shit, perfectionism.
Everything I do, I worry and worry and worry over, wondering if it's good enough. Sometimes I worry so much I never even start it in the first place (procrastination).

Lately I've been trying to cut myself some slack, because it's seriously affecting my ability to finish stuff.

OH MY GOD ARE YOU ME?

That's like my friend (who writes original fiction), she'll be able to churn out like 5 K or more in a day, and if I'm writing fanfic I'm fortunate if I can get 700 words out of myself in a day for all of the self editing that I do!

Keeping all 700 of those words the next day doesn't usually happen either :/

Procrastination is huge for me too.

I also sometimes I feel inadequate or that I can't do it. Like the entire thing is just too much, or too big for me, or maybe takes a skill I don't possess.

Other than procrastination, It's being scared that all the practice I'm doing isn't being... absorbed? by my brain and when it comes the time to actually draw something it'll come way worse than expected, and then I'll keep trying but it'll only get worse because I'm getting desperate to get it right. Whew. Actually thinking about that makes me overwhelmed and I end up not doing anything, so that leads to even more procrastination, lol.

Procrastinating is a big one, and as I said in my general comment whenever it was I posted it: creativity overload. I get bogged down with so many ideas my mind wants to focus on I never get anywhere with most of them.

I have some insecurities about if I'm actually managing to get the ideas that I want to get through with my stuff out,(seriously things look/sound so much better in my head than they do when I've written/drawn them.) and my work being liked, but I've gotten really good at pep talking myself.

I work a very draining, difficult job, and sometime it's just too much for me to do much of anything except mope around in my house and sleep until it's time to go back to work. Sometimes I have a hard time just getting myself out of bed, much less dragging my ass over to the computer to write something. D:

I needlessly overcomplicate everything. And then I feel so muddled in my own thoughts, I go and read fandomsecrets "to calm my nerves." Bye-bye, three hours.

Procrastination oh yes. I've procrastinated on my blog/short stories/novel wayyy too much.

Sometimes I procrastinate on the things I'm doing to procrastinate. It's a little ridic.

I was supposed to be doing things today but I decided I was going to waffle about and work on my art. Instead I've made meatballs, breakfast sausage, muffins, lasagna, and spaghetti squash. I didn't eat any of it. It all went into the freezer except for the squash. I guess I'll be having easy dinners for a while.

I did get one thing done today that I was supposed to have done for a while: I paid my rent. But then I was like 'I have to put away my clothes today!" And then that didn't happen. And I was like "While I'm 'readying myself' to attack that closet, I might as well decorate my room." And then I gave up on that. And then I was like "Well, now I should cook dinner." But then I was tired from going out and paying my rent & picking up decorating materials so I just heated up frozen pizza and ate a bunch of other crap today too. And then I was like "Well, if I'm not going to do anything else productive, I should write." And then I surfed the internet for two hours.

For me it's procrastination and anxiety disorder. A lot of the time I'll sit down to write, but as soon as I open up my word processor I'll have a massive panic attack and won't be able to write so much as a grocery list for days after. Not a good thing for someone who aspires to be a published author. At the moment, though, I'm going through a good period where the anxiety isn't interfering with me that much, so I'm trying to take advantage of it while it lasts. Speaking of, back to work.

I feel like I always get inspiration when I'm not sitting at my computer. My wallet is literally filled with receipts with possible first lines and conversations scribbled on the back that I've thought up when I'm commuting to and from work. On a good day, I'll at least make it to type up a new outline for something- on a bad day, by the time I get home all enthusiasm for whatever I was overflowing with ideas for an hour ago is gone.

That, and I have a bad habit of leapfrogging to other projects when one isn't going well, instead of sticking it out.

I'll worry about a character being too cliche. So I'll do 'research' on TvTropes to see if he already exists- next thing I know I have seven tabs open while simultaneously watching an obscure Korean series at three o'clock in the morning.
