It hadn't really occurred to me that human/android relationships are weird per se. I dunno, I really like the "what measure a non-human" exploration good stories of the sort can be subject to. But the way I see it, if it has all the emotions of a human (or even just some of them, or is otherwise mentally compatible in some important way(s) with humans), in fiction at least, it might as well BE human. And beyond that, who cares? Though I guess the form factor also matters. Chobits androids were basically totally human-looking. The android in the secret is more definitely mechanical if still primarily humanoid. A robot like the kind that build cars might be pushing it, haha, no matter what it felt. =p

(On a different note, just imagine the porn that could be produced with android actors! Automation displaces another set of workers...)
