Eh... while I'm sorry you're going through this kind of heartbreak, I have to take issue with the whole, "slash made me fall in love with my best friend" thing. That just seems incredibly unhealthy and unrealistic. That's no different than if I started baw'ing that an overdose of Harlequin romances made me fall in love with my male best friend. It just sounds to me like you need to remove your slash goggles for a bit and actually examine your real life feelings and relationships, separate from fandom, slash, and fictional characters.

OP doesn't say slash made her fall in love with her best friend, she says it made her realize she was in love with her best friend.

I dunno I kinda agree with anon. When I first found out about slash as a teen I got confused over how they treated love. Shipping character who were friends as obvious lovers? Well my and my BFF were friends that hard....Nope still straight. Obviously I'm not OP so I don't know how they feel but a lot of internet culture is damaging if you don't talk about it with people in real life. Maybe they have other friends they can talk to about it first.
