Gatiss was good as the Master

Gatiss has never played the Master. He played a guy named Lazarus in one episode, and is Mycroft on Sherlock.

Gatiss has actually played the Master, although it was in an audio called Sympathy for the Devil (a very enjoyable audio if you don't mind Doctor Who AUs) and was very good at it. I'd love to see him play the Master on an actual episode though!

I'd love him as the Master on the show if hes play him casual and low-key like he does Mycroft.

The Big Finish audios are pretty good on the whole, if you like that sort of thing, and certainly worth checking out. Although there's a lot of them now!

Totally. I like John Simm's manic Master, but that definitely wouldn't suit a Gatiss-style Master. I'd love Gatiss to play the Master Delgado-style.

Yeah, I've heard about the Big Finish stuff... I do kinda wanna hear some of the the 6th and 8th Doctor ones, since I feel they both got gypped out of good story lines on the show itself.

Sympathy for the Devil was my gateway drug into Big Finish, because the Main Range looked daunting and the one-off AUness seemed like a better way to dabble, and I fucking love it. I mean, the Brig pwns everything ever anyway and David Warner is also awesome and shouty Scottish David Tennant and "Sam Kisgart". Brilliant.

(but I would add that it is almost certainly more enjoyable if you are familiar with Three's era, especially Mind of Evil)
