I do pretty much agree with the secret though. Even in the comics I believe that he is basically just fated to do the things he does. :\

From what I can tell in the comics there is this cycle of Ragnarok and the Asgardian's just kind of play their parts every time. They're kind of destined to be who they are.

I don't have a huge knowledge of the comics yet however, and I'm trying to work my way through them at the moment.

This kind of explains a little of what I'm trying to say.

But the movieverse =/= comicsverse.

Also, the whole destiny thing is a huge cop-out. Even if it is legit, you can still try to fight it instead of caving. D'you know how many dozens of extra-universal timey-wimey cosmic beings have had their "it's the order of the universe"/"you can't fight fate"/"you have a place in the universe" bullshit absolutely demolished by the Fantastic Four or the Avengers?

Apart from the Galactus thing, but that was way more functional than metaphysical. (Also, I don't remember if it's been retconned or not.)

Also yes. You can change destiny if you are aware, and Loki has tried like in that comic I gave the link for. But it just. keeps. happening. Because the other characters don't seem to realize.

I do think that kind of thing is cool, but it really only works in long-running mediums like comics. In a movie, it just wouldn't have that kind of "keeps happening" effect. It would seem like a counterintuitive cop-out instead.

I pretty much agree with you here actually. I was just pointing it out because the secret was talking about the character in general.

Ah, that makes more sense! I don't know where these people who talk about Loki like all his versions are one and the same are coming from.

And I think everyone needs calm the hell down and realize that he is not a good person nor is he pure evil in any canon. Really now.

Guh and I just realized. Even without the Ragnarok cycle they all seem to fall into certain roles anyway. In the recent stuff Loki was reborn as a little kid but everyone still hates him and it seems like its gonna get worse soon. So it seems he is just falling back into his role as a villain.

THIS IS BAD. nO. I hope they prove me wrong ugh.
