It's especially hard because, since we're so close and go everywhere together and have that "old married couple" relationship, most people assume we're together. And when she just laughs it off, my stomach folds inside out, and I want to crawl into a hole because it feels like everyone knows what I feel and they're giving me that look because they know it'll never work out and they feel sorry.
Nothing a shot of whiskey won't fix, right? Here's one for you. ;)
