Yuletide 2012

So I really want to do the Yuletide challenge this year, but I can't figure out how to sign up or anything. Any vets willing to help out? :)

I think i signed up on AO3. You get to put in what you want and what you're willing to write, then you get an assignment and can add the fic to the collection, then the mods reveal it on reveal day.

The mods give step by step instructions with screen caps on the lj comm, but it's really, really easy. I was intimidated by the fest for years, but I promise it's easy and fun. Easily the highlight of my fannish year. And everyone is willing to help out. When it comes time, if you still don't understand something or have questions, just ask in the comm, and everyone will be really helpful. :)

You can't sign up until the mods officially open the challenge. Like lunabee34 said, they have all sorts of helpful info on the official LJ com. Last year the signup opened late, so we had around 5 weeks to write instead of 8, but it was still tons of fun. IIRC, signups are supposed to be in early November.

I do suggest you be thinking about the fandoms you want to receive and write, just so you can be prepared when the mods open the floodgates. Lots of good info on that is also available on the LJ comm (and check the Yuletide FAQ, too.) Last year was my first year, and I loved every minute. :D
