I don't know anything about this show, but does it have more than one or two female characters that get as much focus or more than the male characters? Because that's the only way I'll consider anything getting touted as the children's show we should all be watching instead of My Little Pony.

It's not the only reason to watch MLP but it's a good reason to watch it. Where a lot of shows focus on an almost all male cast it is important to have at least one show that is prominently female. So yes she had a point.

To be honest, not quite. E4 and E6 do talk about not being obliged to someone because they do nice things for you and society's definition of manhood.

Mabel is involved in the supernatural adventures almost as much (and often just as much) as Dipper, and the two other major side characters are Gruncle Stan and Wendy. So I'd say the attention is evenly split.

Mabel is perfect and her parts of the show are all great, Wendy is pretty fun and in the most recent episode Mabel made some girlfriends who will probably come back every once in a while.
