Re: Tell me about the fic you are working on
The real life Paul went on to change his name to Ernst Erich Noth and have a successful writing career, pioneering the French literary scene until WWII. As a Communist, the Nazis burned his books, revoked his German citizenship, and even detained him for a year. He ended up hiding out in the Paris Underground for a year until fleeing to America, where he continued to write and work as a professor.
I'm focusing on that year, with Paul hiding at Le Gamaar with Shosanna, where they form a passionate bond. They connect through their personal tragedies, living as societal outcasts under pseudonyms, and having fabulously Franco-German relations. She becomes his muse, even long after he's gone and lives on in his works.
I'm excited because Paul left France in the early '40s, which means Shosanna goes straight from the countryside to Paris and Paul, so I can focus on something slow-burning and tender between them. Also, at this point, I can include Ada Mimieux (she was in IB and played by Maggie Cheung, but her scenes were cut), and I love having any excuse I can to include her in fic.
Idk how long it will exactly be, but it'll be wordy and most likely smutty.
