When it comes to MMOs, I'd say that it kind of depends. Back when I was playing Rift, the people I came across were actually very friendly, respectful, and open-minded. There was some drama that happened, but it all revolved around competing egos. I never experienced anything even remotely like what one gets in, say, CoD.

Also, RP servers in MMOs tend to be a lot more respectful, in my experience. People tend to be very helpful and accepting, so even though I don't RP, that's usually where I go.

AND. While trying to figure out where I want to make my home for Guild Wars 2, I came across an awesome guild called Rough Trade, which has a presence in multiple MMOs. They're a GBLTQ+allies guild, and they seek to provide a safe place for people of all stripes.

Hell, I don't think it's anyone *obligation* to listen to anyone - but it's the civil thing to do, and most people are actually willing to.

Specifically in fandom, there are a lot of douches. Worse so, there are a bunch of people who only barely know what they're talking about themselves and are parroting sociology 101. I just do not take those people seriously, even though they might have a valid point somewhere in there.

I understand that your experience with this might be different, but to me the term SJW is completely burned in the context of fandom.

You know what, I actually agree. This might sound a bit ridiculous, and it's been a while since I've read the books, but I remember being intrigued by the relationship between the two. They were two characters who were complete opposites in personality and worldviews, yet they managed to find some unlikely degree of sympathy and connection between each other. Although I've never romantically shipped them, it's a fannish wish of mine to see the two meet again when Sansa is wiser and older, and see the two strike something like an odd friendship, or to even see Sandor be in Sansa's service.

Also, Sandor is one my favorite characters from the series (definitely my favorite non pov character), but I do think it's a misjudgement to view him as a good person/anti-hero type of character. He's a man who both did and is capable of doing bad things, in order to further his own interests. The difference between him and other self serving knights in the series is that he doesn't try to hide behind a facade of chivalry and knighthood, which has him come across as more genuine and honest. And the difference between him and knights like his brother is the fact that he does have the capability to feel regret and some empathy. He was definitely not Sansa's knight in shiny white armour.

Well, I don't know. I seem to remember there being a lot of "canon evidence" for Harry and Hermione being meant for each other, and most of it was plucked from the text by people with "eyes for detail."

When it comes to picking out minutiae and presenting it as "evidence," I tend to be skeptical, as often times it involves ascribing meaning where there is none.
