You know, I really dig the concept behind Covert Affairs but whenever I see an ad for it all it seems to be about is Piper Perabo pouting or looking scared or sad. Which annoys me enough in the commercials that I've never actually checked out the show.

She actually plays a very competent, intelligent, and interesting character in the show. I rarely see the commercials, but it makes me sad to think that they are selling her as the helpless little girl (or even as the ditzy blonde who somehow makes it into the CIA, which I have also seen people characterizer her as from the commercials).

Well, they don't really push the helpless female thing, but it is a lot of sex appeal and pouty looks in all the promos.

Oh that's good to hear... Sorta. I'd rather have sex appeal than her being seen as helpless, I guess. But yeah, I think that the "sexiness" of the show is uplayed a lot, because while it is an aspect (at least durring this arch because she's trying to romance info out of this spy dude) but it's not a main aspect durring the vast majority of the episodes.
