It would be brilliant if a movie actually explored that! I'm guessing it doesn't, though?

nop, it's a very bad movie though really entertaining, complete with a scene in which a girl dies in a really claustrophobic shower xD

Oh this one guy who seemed to be a bit older than the other teenagers couldn't really see it. *curious*

There are some movies where the entire point of the movie is loss of innocence, the end of childhood, etc.

I was thinking specifically about a movie that targets children exploring the cut-off, but if you have any recs I'd be interested :)

I don't know of any movies that are completely focused on the exact time/age you become an adult, but there are plenty of movies about children learning what it is to be an adult or loss of innocence/growing into adulthood.

Mitt liv som hund/My Life As a Dog is sort of in that vein, about a child dealing with a lot of adult issues, mostly death, abandonment, about growing up in general

The Tin Drum is a film partially about a child who refuses to become an adult. It's also a critique of Nazi Germany and the poor decisions adults make in general. It generated a lot of controversy because it includes scenes of sexual exploration between child actors but it's not a movie for pedophiles as some (in the United States) have assumed. It also has Charles Aznavour in it so that's a plus.

By the way, My Life as a Dog also has some childhood sexual exploration in it and that seems to be, in my opinion, one of the things central to defining the boundaries between childhood and adulthood. At least I think a lot of people can relate to that... It's why I think teenagers are in a grey area between childhood and adulthood because they usually have the sexuality of an adult but the experience and cognitive abilities of a child. Legally they are children, but I don't really consider a teenager to be a child in a strict sense.

These probably weren't too along the lines of what you specifically wanted but you might be interested to see them if you haven't already, anyway

I'll put them both on my Lovefilm list, thank you!
