Different anon, I think the reason you can't count shows that are no longer on the air is because you need to look at the trend of current television to know what is going on with the politics in the industry.

For instance there is a severe lack of programming with black leads that lasts more then a season, was this always the case? No, there are several iconic sitcoms with black leads. Does the fact that we had those shows make it okay to never have black leads again? Of course not, it's extremely problematic.

I do think secrets like this need to be worded better though because it's not that people don't want to watch women, it's that the industry thinks it's a "risk" to have certain shows be about women (or other minorities) and so they won't put it on the air.
