My favorite teen series is, and will always be, the Thirteen/Fourteen and Holding/Fifteen at Last series, by Candice F Ransom. I really loved the main character because she was incredibly awkward and not very good at anything. She was a loser, but so was I, and reading about her adventures always made me feel better because I had a literary kindred spirit. And she never magically became popular or anything. She just kept being an awkward dork with awkward dork friends, and came to accept it because they were great friends. I think this was the only "be yourself" moral that ever really reached me and stuck, because it really rang true.

I don't think anybody else ever read it, though.

And apparently they're out of print these days, so that makes me really sad. I want copies. :(

Sometimes I hope that someone with complete copies of these old, out-of-print YA books would be kind enough to type them all up and upload them on the internet...
