Not gonna lie, I used to ship Kane/RVD waaaaaaay back, before Kane lost the mask. Same with Kane/Hurricane Helms...Kane just seemed so happy with them, I dunno.

And then WWE decided Kane needed to go back being the angst-ridden psychopath again and had him maim or mentally scar them before moving on to terrible solo storylines. (Though that boiler scene with RVD...)

DAMN IT WWE, LET THE BIG RED MACHINE GET A HAPPY ENDING TO HIS STORY.

I totally understand about having the "NOW KISS" reaction with characters and ships you otherwise have no interest in. I saw XMFC for the first time a couple of months ago, and had very little interest in either Erik or Charles as characters, found neither of them especially attractive, and still found myself going NOW KISS at a couple of points. Some things are just ridiculously shippy.

I'm not in to slash at all, but my husband has been watching pro wrestling for years much to my chagrin. When I have to sit and watch it, I'll often look over to him and say, "Oh no, that's not homoerotic at all" till he glares at me angrily.

Totally late comment, but I never figured out why I loved WWF/WWE so much growing up until well after discovering slash fandom. An older pen pal of mind implied the homoeroticism through a series of double entendres, and only then did the penny of OH GOD I JUST WANT THEM TO KISS AND GRAB EACH OTHER SOME MORE.

I remember being so disappointed when Billy and Chuck was revealed as only an in-show "publicity stunt" and only a couple years later did I realise that disappointment stemmed from my rampant shipping that was on from the beginning of my life.
