Lawd Jesus take the wheel--OK, I've said this a million times and I'm sure it sounds pretentious but GUESS WHAT I DON'T CARE: I truly cannot, cannot fathom why those two thoughts are so incredibly, intrinsically connected. Seriously. I cannot. I first noticed Tom in Thor because I really like his acting performance, and then later discovered that he has a ridiculously charming and kind personality and I just flipped for him entirely. The fact that I sometimes find him extremely good-looking and sometimes do not [he has many looks, y'know, as does Benny] is so completely secondary or tertiary or...whatever's beyond that. And I seriously feel like I'm taking crazy pills sometimes because goddamn, people are shallow as fuck. I mean, I get why attractiveness is relevant to ~celeb crushes, since chances are all you're ever gonna do is look at pictures of them/see their movies/whatever because they are in fact celebs, but I still do not understand looks being the #1 most important factor, even in fangirling, and when people say shit like that I always cannot help but think 'do you treat people in real life like that, too? Do you can people hideous reptiles and shit to their face, or just behind their backs, or...?' It just pisses me off way too much. And I honestly don't care if people like the celebs I like or not, it just...seems incredibly mean sometimes.

that being said, why are you so pressed because some of us think they aren't all that? you do realize that a lot of the obnoxious fans who insist they are and that we should love them are the reason why people keep calling them fug, right?

Oh, I care; I meant I didn't care if people think I'm being twee or pollyanna about this kinda thing. And yes, I'm aware that some of the anti-stanning, as it were, is in response to the over-the-top fans who INSIST everyone has to like who they like and that their faves are the actual best and all that. I've been directly told as much at ONTD. But that's...kind of incredibly petty, imo. I get why it's fun to annoy hardcore fangirls, but why are we blaming the celeb in question for their insane fanbase? It kinda doesn't follow, and reeks of tryhardery.
