I remember loving the richness of the HDM books (even though I can't remember much of it now, haha), even if the blatant anti-religious bent made me kind of uncomfortable. But hearing that Pullman bashes Narnia? What an ass. Unfair as it is, that kind of spoils my desire to reread. :[

7. DOOD. Speed Racer was my first anime too. I had a huge crush on Racer X when I was like...seven. I still buy cheap DVDs of it or get them as gifts for my birthday. Funniest stuff ever. Oh, and now that there's a movie coming out, I've gone through all my DVDs again.

4. What? Pullman hates Narnia? AUGH. Yet another person who made something I like has proven themselves to be sucky. I thoroughly enjoyed His Dark Materials, but Narnia is... Narnia. I loved it when I was little, I love it now. Screw you, Pullman.

Yes! I don't really know much indepth about Hagaren myself (I just watched the anime series), but a friend who is up-to-date with the manga said it's kind of European, so *shrug* who knows. :P What I meant was though that if you really want to say that there's no Japan in a series, so therefore they don't speak Japanese BECAUSE of that fact, then you're starting to bring in theories of exactly where the world of Hagaren is in. The thing is that we don't know (apparently, considering all this wank XD). So, since we don't know 100%, the only clue would be Japanese, which is what the original was spoken in. No one knows though, that's really the point, but then it's not really fair to discredit anything else if you don't know.

So. I CALL FOR A HAGAREN FANFIC WITH RUSSIAN TERMS. XD

You are SO not alone. I loved Narnia about a thousand times more than the His Dark Materials series. Reading his comments about Narnia made me dislike his books more, too.

His intentions were originally pure, and in another universe, they could even be considered normal. This is the way I look at it: what is the definition of "moral"? What if you had no base of moral, and was starting fresh in your beliefs? Would Light's way of law ever be considered good in that predicament, or would you still believe the same thing you do now? Think about it. That's really the point I was trying to make. :3

...and I did not say "it was a good idea". Considering the definition of a character's beliefs in a fictional book is far different from wanting them to become a reality.
