2 JUST AS PLANNED. xD

4 I like both. The Mr Pullman's criticisms of the Narnia series originally made me sad, but you know, I'm sure if you asked any of my favourite authors about the series of all the rest, every single one of them could find something bad to say. I've read things before that made me suspect that one author I loved was bashing another, and I usually stop reading whatever interview or note it is for fear that reading more will confirm it. I love the HDM novels, but if I had the choice between seeing the Last Battle and the Magician's Nephew as movies, or seeing the last two HDM novels... it would be a hard decision, but I suspect I would pick the Narnia ones. (Moot point, but just as an example)

Aslan's obvious comparison to God never bothered me either. I mean, he's just plain fucking awesome. To be honest, he occassionally made me wish that the Bible had left me as awestricken and adoring of the real God. It's not something I often admit, but I've always found it testimony to the power of fiction as a tool in the right hands. And a real testimony to CS Lewis' skill.
