There was an interview with a 23-year-old female delegate to the Republican platform-writing sub-convention thing, and she kept trying to introduce amendments like, 'Don't ban morning-after pill given to rape victims' and 'maybe don't be quite so firmly in favor of abstinence-only education' and 'make a statement disapproving of that disgusting guy with the 'legitimate rape' comment, and got shot down every time. She was interviewed afterwards, and said it was disheartening, mentioned statistics on political preferences of college-educated (or college-aged, maybe) women and how this was possibly related, and how she hoped things would be better in forty years.)
