The Fever Crumb series by Phillip Reeve has a bisexual protagonist - her sexuality doesn't come into play in the first book but they're all pretty awesome and Phillip Reeve is amazing at integrating romance subplots.

Phillip Reeve is amazing at EVERYTHING. I love all his stuff, pretty much, and it's always so nice to run into other people who do too. Why is his stuff not way more famous than it is? Why?

Ikr? There's talks of a film version of Mortal Engines but it might just be rumour. So much love for those books. <3

He's especially good at romance subplots, though - he has this amazing ability to properly develop the relationship, integrate it into the plot so it's not just extra baggage, and make it so that neither character is a 'love interest'.
