I'm not sure if she can, but speaking of Mulan, wasn't there definite tension between her and Shang before he knew she was actually a girl? Because that's kind of interesting in this context.

It would make him bi, is what I think they're getting at. Except not really, at least not from his digging Mulan when she was still presenting to be Ping, it was played as him reacting to her being female even if he wasn't fully processing that consciously.
