Aw, I almost feel bad about it now. Like, we should leave them to live in that happy world of theirs and not burn it down like my hopes and dreams of actually liking the movie were. We should protect them from the realization.

Well... that and I ask them if they've ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light. *SHRUG*

People insult you for not liking it? That's sad.
Ahaha, I see.

Following something blindly or enforcing your interests on others aggressively is just silly.

But I still love that movie.
How about you? Any movie like that for you?
Yeah, I know. That's why I actually check with someone first if they like something or not before I state my opinion on it. If they match, awesome, if they don't I generally don't want to either a)shit on their parade or b)admit I like something and leave them open to shit on my parade.

I'm pretty good about people liking things I don't as long as people don't respond with hostility about the fact that I didn't like it or have silly excuses (TKDR was supposed to be "realistic?" PLEASE).

Same here. :)

The cast was also really fitting for it.
The story felt kind of rushed and simplistic, though. There wasn't a definite end to it and with no real sequel in sight, I can see many feeling cheated by that.
To be honest, it's a lot like Star Wars (A New Hope). You've got your typical young male hero, skilled and capable Princess, your wise/a tad nuts mentor character, and a dark and twisted former ally who gave into jealousy and the "bad ways." They have to rush in and bring down the big bad world killing device.
There are some elements missing, but it adds up to your classic knights tale. The reason why I feel it wasn't as well received was because of Tron. Rinzler is cool, but it would have been a much more powerful and respected film had they focused some more of the plot on attempting to de-evil him.
And yet, despite these faults, I still really enjoyed it.

I'm always excited to hear varying viewpoints about films. The fact that varying viewpoints and perspectives on film exist make it an interesting subject.
