A bit OT, but I've been reading X-Men again and I'm bothered by how tall the women are. Maybe it's different in the US, but the average height in comics is so unrealistic when compared to my area, at least.

Average height for women in the U.S. is a bit over 5'4" last time I checked, and the average dress size was 14. X-man stats are nothing like representative of the average in my country.

Thanks for the info! All the tall women always bothered me more than weight, but I know it's common in some countries. Not the US then.

The "funny" thing is that I was far from being the shortest in my class, yet looking at those heroines I'd be staring into their chests.

They would have to be a foot taller than you--so if you were average, 5'5", they'd have to be six and a half feet tall.

I was exaggerating because they look so much taller than my friends and I. Difference would be close to 20cm.

If they're all supposed to be 5'10" or something, then yes, it's unrealistic. I'm 5'6" and live in the US and rarely meet women who are significantly taller than me (although it does happen).

Thanks for the info! Average height is around 5.3" here, though my state's might be a tiny bit higher.

It's not that unrealistic. I'm somewhere around 5'10"-5'11", and I have female friends who are even taller than me. I know I'm not average (I'm reminded of that every time I try to buy shoes...), but it's not exactly ridiculous, either.

I always loved that some of them were tall, so YMMV. There's too many people hating on tall women.

Kitty Pryde is generally shown as pretty short, though.

Personally, I'd prefer a range of heights with no hating on anyone.
