It all depends. On-and-off acknowledgement for me and my 2-year older sister throughout our schools and even mutual camps and summer trips (even though we'd be sorted apart anyway by age). Acknowledgement became stronger and more often the older we got. "No interfering" was probably a better way to put it for us, since even though we had a few shared interests and extracurriculars, we also had very different friend groups that tended to side-eye each other a lot and generally had different goals and activities, but there was never any criticism on either side.
