The fandom I used to be in, Gossip Girl, is also bad on Tumblr. That's because all the hardcore shippers that take everything too damn seriously in that fandom moved from LJ while the rest of the sensible fandom stayed on LJ.

Omg, the Gossip Girl fandom on Tumblr. I've discovered Tumblr fairly recently and I've loved Gossip Girl for years, but the fandom there seems to be of two types: either a) hardcore shippers who only want to see/share pretty gifs of their loved couples (I'm mainly on Tumblr for that), or b) hardcore shippers who take everything seriously and whose only objective is to cause/start shipping wars. I usually only focus on the pretty gifs and try to stay away from the shipping wars as much as possible.

I think it's a bit sad, though. Years ago, you could ship any couple in GG, from the canon ones (i.e. Chuck/Blair, Dan/Serena, or even Nate/Serena) to the crack ones or the non-canon/popular ones (i.e. Serena/Blair, Chuck/Nate, even Dan/Blair before it became... "canon", I guess), and nobody would yell at you or insult you for liking those pairings. Maybe it still happened, but it was never as terrible as it is now, with Dair and Chair shippers who are literally at each others' throats. Instead of starting shipping wars, the fandom should unite against GG's real common enemy: the stupid writers who do not understand anything about the characters and make them incredibly OOC, and who have been ruining the show little by little, with season 5 being the absolute worst.
