sob, hopefully I won't sound mean saying this, but I hate mpreg. I hate it. I have a serious, severe squick toward it.

I'm not even sure WHY although when I think about it, I'm reminded of this episode in Sliders where one of the male characters got like...pregnant, somehow--some injection or something??--and the whole episode was one giant mpreg fanfic, basically, but then in the end he had the kid and I don't recall them explaining how the mechanics worked at all. It wasn't a c-section, it was a "natural" birth with like the kid coming out from underneath the hospital gown and everything. I was also like...IDK, 11? 12? at the time, maybe even younger, as I was watching this. So my brain was just going in circles just trying to figure out HOW, WHERE IS THE BABY COMING FROM? and for some reason, my brain didn't go "the butt?" my brain went "THE PENIS?" So then I started thinking about how much it would hurt to try to squeeze a baby out of a penis and OW OW OW OW OW OW OW I can't handle it, every time I just...have...that image in my head when I think about it, so yeah. I lose my ability to can at the thought of it.

...Actually, if you need a rec, OP, that's my rec to you. Check out that episode of Sliders if you can figure out what it was, you'd probably enjoy it. I think Sliders is even on Netflix now?

I don't really enjoy the ass-baby subgenre of the trope. I prefer the ones where they cut the baby out or magic the baby out or something to the whole giving birth through the ass idea.

I am with you on a baby coming out through the penis is probably the worst, most horrible idea ever. LOL Not good, not good!! :)

lol, yeah, who knows why my brain went that route. I'm somewhat better with it when it's a c-section or magic or something, but it still weirds me out pretty heavily.

It's definitely not something I"d like, judge you for liking or anything, though. (And unlike the other people I love kid!fic for some reason.)

I love kid!fic too, especially in a team scenario when a group of people adopt or take care of a kid or it's about a character that you wouldn't think would be good with or want kids taking in a child or having a child.

Yes, those both sound awesome. As long as everyone's IC and doesn't, like...you don't get a hardened badass suddenly turning into a puddle of goo around a kid, or something. But yeah, kept IC, and I love it.

aaaaaan suddenly I have to watch Sliders now. Thank goodness it's on netflix, idgaf what this series is about, I'm trucking through it for this one episode.

LOL, I'm glad I mentioned it, then! That show was a big chunk of my childhood. (I really need to rewatch it...)

Hopefully that episode is actually on Netflix--I don't think it was in the first season, I think it was midway through or something....don't take my word for it, though, it's been years since I've seen it so I could be completely wrong.

The only episode that for sure has male pregnancy (according to a GIS) is "The Prince of Slides." Rembrant carries a baby to term because a virus has rendered women unable to carry a fetus past the second trimester. Or, something.

I thought for sure the episode "The Weaker Sex" involved male pregnancy as a periphery plot point, but I'm not seeing anything about that in my searches.

THAT'S IT, THAT'S THE EPISODE I REMEMBER! I couldn't remember the guy's name, but now that it was say it's definitely Rembrant. And I remember that plot now, too. The reason why he was carrying a baby was he was a look-alike for some important public figure and his wife or girlfriend was the one who was pregnant.
